The pandemic did a huge number on our mental and emotional well-being. Many of us lost jobs or businesses. Relationships were strained as we debated what we could and couldn’t do. Traditional outlets for stress relief were considered too risky. It took me a long time to realize that I was less happier than I used to be, and a huge part of that had to do with the pandemic. I knew that I was the only person who was going to lift myself out of that general sense of heaviness, so I took a few weeks to come up with a plan, and then started making a conscious, mindful effort to start thinking more positively using a simple practice that I knew would have a tremendous impact – journaling. In Week 2 of our Movember Series for Men’s Mental & Emotional Wellbeing, I talk about all of this and more, and give you instructions on how you can start journaling to practice positivity on your own. We’re also hoping to raise $10,000 for the Movember Organization to help raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention for men.
